Support without an Autism / ADHD diagnosis
Unrecognised Autism / ADHD
Frequently, parents have known for a long time that their child has some additional underlying needs. It can be very challenging to get appropriate support when these needs are not "seen" or recognised by professionals. Parents can often feel very isolated and unsupported, or even gaslit that their experiences are not accurate or are possibly even their fault.
Getting psychological help for a child without an Autism / ADHD diagnosis
Waiting lists for Autism and ADHD assessment and diagnosis are long, leaving families without much-needed support whilst they are waiting. We understand how difficult it can be to access appropriate support in this context, so we offer therapeutic support to children and families pre-diagnosis, where there is emerging evidence of neurodivergence. In this situation, we will need to conduct some assessment to develop a shared understanding of the child's needs and offer therapeutic support. We can provide an assessment report which can contribute to any information being compiled for a diagnostic referral. We do not provide diagnostic assessments, but can signpost for this.
This can be provided online or in person, depending on the needs.
